Courses

Whether it's to enhance your career, lay the foundation for a new life direction, or just for the sheer pleasure of learning something new - there's a course here for you. Most likely, more than one. They're short and snappy: anything from half a day to six or seven weekly sessions. They're economical, with some specially subsidised to meet community needs.

There's a selection of vocational courses that form the building blocks of nationally accredited certificates.

Whatever you choose, you'll enjoy meeting a like-minded group of people and appreciate the skills your tutor has to share.

What We Offer

Our courses include a range of vocational training programs, where you can learn specific skills that equip and train you for work, plus a variety of affordable short courses across a range of leisure and general interest areas.

Vocational training programs
With a focus on helping people train for employment, community colleges are recognised by government as Registered Training Organisations. Your local community college can offer you work skills at a number of levels:

• a certificate III or IV qualification in a range of professions including child care, aged care, and community services

• training which will gain you CPD points for your existing license or qualification.

Some vocational courses are funded by the government and are therefore subsidised or even free to suitable applicants. Check with your local community college for more information.

Business skills
Your community college offers a range of courses that are designed to give you or your staff the training they need to keep up with changes in the workplace.

• Software and basic computing courses

• Accounting, spreadsheet and graphics software

• General business management skills including marketing, small business, customer service and time management.

• Plus more.

Leisure courses
Leisure and lifestyle courses have long been an important part of the community college offerings, popular because of their diversity and wide appeal. Many of these courses are delivered by local community representatives and experts in the field – and have been developed by them in response to a clear local demand.

Literacy and numeracy skills
Your community colleges may help you to learn basic skills such as literacy and numeracy, or computing fundamentals; courses that will help you gain access to vital services.
